What We Treat
Women’s bodies and women’s lives are very complex. And often, a woman is caring more for others than for herself, and the strain on her system is too much. When so much is given and pushed, and not enough is going in to replenish, deficiencies and imbalances can develop. You can’t just push through, that math just doesn’t work out. You need the proper assessment and plan to enable proper functioning of the your body, even in the most challenging of circumstances.
Symptoms alone are often not enough to guide a proper treatment plan. Having a good look “under the hood” by testing either the blood, urine or saliva for estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA and cortisol, among other labs can be invaluable for determining the root cause of a woman’s concerns. The more data we get, the more precise and effective the treatment can be.
Food is one of the most powerful interventions. If you’re eating the wrong food for your body, you’re likely doing it on a daily basis, and such a persistent attack on your gut and immune system can result in chronic and severe symptoms of many kinds. And on the other hand, if you’re eating the right foods for your body, then every day you are nourishing and properly fuelling all of the complex biochemical processes that are required to keep you well on a daily and long-term basis.
Determining what you eat is part of the equation, but actually properly absorbing it is vital as well. Not only is proper digestion required to avoid negative symptoms like constipation, diarrhea, bloating, heartburn/reflux, and abdominal pain, but it’s needed to properly fuel your body. There’s no benefit in eating well if you’re not absorbing well.
Our modern lifestyle are busy and demanding, and sometimes straight up not manageable. We see many women in our practice either fully in a burnout, or on their way. We use lab testing, lifestyle counselling, dietary support, herbs and supplements to nourish the adrenal system and reset the stress response.
Every child needs a naturopath because every kid deserves a thorough assessment to determine what foods are best for their body, and how best to set up their immune functional and neurological development for life.
