At Sequence Wellness, we believe that the best care happens through collaboration. We work closely with patients, family doctors, specialists, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centred care.
This page outlines how to refer to Sequence Wellness, what to expect from the referral process, and how we approach referring patients to other practitioners and clinics.
Referring Patients to Sequence Wellness
Sequence Wellness is a virtual naturopathic clinic licensed in Ontario, providing evidence-informed care in:
- Women’s hormonal health & menopause
- Digestive health (IBS, SIBO, bloating)
- Skin health & naturopathic dermatology
- Stress, burnout & sleep concerns
- Functional lab testing & interpretation
We accept referrals from:
- Family physicians
- Nurse practitioners
- Specialists
- Psychotherapists
- Chiropractors
- Acupuncturists
- Physiotherapists
- Massage therapists
- Midwives
- Other regulated health professionals
Referrals are welcome but not required for patients to book. More often we have patients self-refer as they are looking for answers, and need a practitioner that has the luxury of time to spend on a thorough intake and assessment.
How to Refer a Patient
Option 1: Patient Self-Referral

They are welcome to mention the referring practitioner during booking or their initial visit.
Option 2: Practitioner Referral
Referrals can be sent by:
- Encrypted email (patient details omitted)
- Fax
- Shared documentation (with patient consent)
Referral information to include (when available):
- Patient name and contact information
- Reason for referral / clinical question
- Relevant history or concerns
- Any recent lab results or reports
- Referring practitioner’s contact details

What Happens After a Referral
- The patient is contacted to book an appointment
- A comprehensive intake is completed
- Care is provided within the naturopathic scope of practice
- Recommendations are discussed collaboratively with the patient
With patient consent, we are happy to provide:
- Visit summaries
- Lab interpretation support
- Care updates
- Collaboration with the referring provider

- Patients can be referred from anywhere in Ontario
- Testing is coordinated through local labs or at-home kits
- Communication with local providers is encouraged
Virtual care allows us to support patients who may otherwise have limited access to naturopathic services.
Privacy & Consent
- All patient information is handled in accordance with PHIPA
- No information is shared without explicit patient consent
- Secure systems are used for communication and documentation

And we rely on local laboratories (Lifelabs and Dynacare) to complete the testing required to do a complete assessment.

Sequence Wellness does not replace a patient’s primary care provider. Our naturopathic doctors work adjunctively, supporting patients within the naturopathic scope of practice and encouraging ongoing care with their family physician or specialist.
Our naturopathic doctors are licensed in Ontario and practice within the regulated naturopathic scope, which may include:
- Comprehensive health assessment
- Nutrition and lifestyle counselling
- Botanical and nutraceutical therapies
- Functional lab testing (when indicated)
- Bioidentical menopausal hormone therapy (within scope)
- Interpretation of existing lab results
- Patient education and shared decision-making
Care is evidence-informed and individualized.

- Interpret existing lab work provided by patients or referring providers
- Order additional testing when clinically appropriate (within ND scope)
